What do we mean when we call someone selfish? Almost everyone means that self-interest is bad. We mean that that person doesn’t care about anybody else – he cares only about himself – he will do anything to get what he wants – lie, cheat, steal. We associate self-interest with immoral behavior.
     Now, capitalism is about self-interest. Everybody knows it. It’s all about making a profit.
     So, self-interest is bad, capitalism is about self-interest, therefore capitalism is bad. Not a giant leap to come to that conclusion.
     Conversely, if self-interest is good, capitalism is about self-interest, therefore capitalism is good. How about that.
