Making Money
I get a number of posts stating that you have to put aside your morals to make money, that you have to choose between your morals and financial gain, that the reality of capitalism is profit before people.
What does it take to make money? It takes rationality, productiveness, ambition, competence, honesty, stamina, courage, integrity – all virtues! It takes strength of character to make money.
How do you make money? In a capitalist, free market economy you trade a value, goods or services, for a greater value. You offer your time and effort to an employer because your time an effort are worth less to you than the money you are paid. The employer offers you money because your time and effort are worth more to him than the money he pays you. It’s a win-win trade. If you want to be rich you have to produce a product or service that millions of people want, a product or service that millions see as worth more than the money you are asking for it. At the same time you have to be able to produce the product or service for less than the money you’ll get for it. Bill Gates made billions because he was able to engage hundreds of millions in a win-win trade. Making money in a capitalist, free market economy is a win-win trade. And that is a good thing!
