WALKAWAYS AND PROMOTING CAPITALISM

Obviously, for those of us wishing to promote capitalism, it behooves us to learn all we can about capitalism so we know what we’re talking about.

That said, we need a receptive audience. There is no point in debating the anti-free speech, politically correct, trigger warning, nutty left who believe mankind doesn’t even belong on earth, or the homophobic, anti-abortion, Trump loving, nutty right who won’t even accept evolution. Both are not open to reason or individual rights.

So who would be a receptive audience? Conservatives tend to be dogmatic, close minded, not open to change. Not the nutty liberals, but liberals in general tend to be more open to reason, more open to change, more open to new ideas. And to convince people of the virtues of capitalism, we need people that will listen to reason.

There are many people on the left that are fed up with the radical left. They are known as walk aways – they are walking away from the irrationality of the far left. They are open to new ideas - we should not dismiss liberals as unreachable.

PROMOTING CAPITALISM

If I’m talking about apples and you think I’m talking about oranges, we have a problem. Fortunately we have no problem when we’re talking about things that are directly perceivable by the senses. But when talking about more abstract concepts we do have a problem. Many if not most Canadians think Canada is a capitalist country. It’s not. Pure capitalism has never existed anywhere at any time – it’s an ideal, a moral ideal! When promoting capitalism the first thing to make clear is what it is you’re talking about. Capitalism is a system based on individual rights – the right to life and property. And the only purpose of government is to protect individual rights. That means just as there is a separation of church and state so there should be a complete separation of the economy and the state – all transactions must be by mutual consent; not even the government can take one penny of yours without your consent. Once you’ve established a clear definition in your listener’s or reader’s mind, you’ll get objection after objection, and so

Obviously, for those of us wishing to promote capitalism, it behooves us to learn all we can about capitalism so we know what we’re talking about.
